German Dortmunder is a Lager beer with a style all it's own. It can be
thought of as a Heils with a kick. What really makes this Lager stand out
is the high sulfur in the water in the Dortmund region of Germany. This is
one of the most satisfying of Lagers.
Not hardly mentioned anymore in its homeland. DABs is not a great
example of this style. If you really want to apperciate this style brew a
batch for yourself. I will say be prepared to make at least 10 gallons as
it goes fast.:)
Again this beer should only be made from Noble German hopes. Also all
German malts for your grist.
This is absolutly one of the most satisfying of the Lagers to make.
Especially if you have a freind that isn't into anything but American
Lagers.
I'm sure they will enjoy this most satisfying of Beers.
As always, BREW ON!!!
